“I try to paint like a crapshooter throwing dice, utilizing past experience and my knowledge of the odds. It’s a big gamble, and that’s why I love it.” (Paul Jenkins)
Glenda Cinquegrana Art Consulting is delighted to present “Abstraction: A Window to Unseen Realities”. This captivating exhibition explores the works of Enzo Cacciola, Vincenzo Cecchini, Salvatore Emblema, Paul Jenkins, and Claudio Olivieri; they delve into various forms of abstraction, providing viewers with unique glimpses into the hidden facets of reality. These creators push the boundaries of conventional representation and invite us to contemplate the power of abstraction.
Abstraction through material: Enzo Cacciola masterfully transforms humble materials like cement into abstract wonders. Through a meticulous process, he shapes raw elements into textured and layered compositions, allowing the interplay of light and shadow to breathe life into his creations.
Poetic Abstraction: Vincenzo Cecchini‘s art showcases a unique form of abstraction that transcends the boundaries of the painterly screen, transforming the window into a poetic abstraction. His work redefines the window’s role, allowing viewers to peer beyond its physical limitations and perceive a deeper, imaginative reality that unfolds beyond the plastic layer.
Spatial Abstraction: Salvatore Emblema, in his masterpieces, utilizes burlap canvases, reminiscent of Burri’s art, to create striking openings in the paintings, revealing the hidden structure beneath. The de-weaving technique gives viewers a glimpse of the unseen, challenging the traditional notion of a flat canvas and inviting contemplation on the interplay between surface and depth.
Gestural Abstraction: Paul Jenkins infuses his works with a harmonious blend of colors, shapes, and gestural brushstrokes, creating a symphony of emotions on canvas. Instead, his art transcends concrete depictions, evoking a sense of spontaneity and lyrical beauty. Jenkins’ approach to abstraction invites viewers to immerse themselves in the ebb and flow of emotions, inviting personal interpretations and connections with the artwork’s rhythmic energy.
Mystical Abstraction: Claudio Olivieri takes abstraction to a spiritual dimension, delving into the realm of mysticism. Through his art, Olivieri evokes ethereal spaces and intangible emotions, encouraging viewers to transcend the material world and embark on a profound spiritual journey through the exploration of a multidimensional space.
