Glenda Cinquegrana Art Consulting is pleased to invite you to the book presentation of Ade Dea, Twilight Herbarium by Sara Rossi, published by Gli Ori (Pistoia, 2024), featuring texts by Maria Alessandra Colombu, Maria Chiara Di Trapani, Luca Panaro, and Sara Rossi. The event will be introduced by Luca Panaro on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 6:30 PM.
The book is conceived as a magical, twilight herbarium, resulting from the artist’s explorations through the parks surrounding Milan, the Brianza region, and toward the sea. The photographs are triggered by walks and immersive experiences in micro-ecosystems, searching for light filtering through trees, illuminating flowers, shrubs, and overlooked or forgotten fragments of nature.
Far from documentary photography, Ade Dea unfolds as a poetic and spiritual project, reflecting on the interplay between light and shadow, life and death, the visible and the invisible. Begun in 2013, the work has developed through time as an initiatory journey toward rediscovering the environment and self-awareness, reaching symbolic places such as Montevecchia, the Brianza hills, and the Ligurian coast.
Applying photography to experience, the artist offers an intimate and ritualistic reading of the landscape, where each image conjures up slowness, observation, and resonance with nature.
The book is a meditation on unexpected beauty and the transformative power of light, revealing the invisible and turning ordinary details into the extraordinary. As the artist writes: “Light is capable of transforming ordinary or invisible things into very special findings, as extraordinary as spring itself.”
