Glenda Cinquegrana Art Consulting is proud to announce its participation in MIA Photo Fair 2017, the international fair devoted to photography and moving image, which will take place in The Mall, Milan from March 10th to 13th, 2017.

Our booth features an exhibition project devoted to black & white photography: the three photographers, Gabriele Croppi, Mario Cucchi, and Ivano Zanchetta, who have made of the black and white a specific stylistic choice within their inquiries.

During his career, Gabriele Croppi has made of black and white an original trademark in his photographic inquiry, which deserved him many international prizes and honorable mentions. We are featuring a selection of works from the series Metaphysics of the Urban Landscape, in which the black and white become the chosen tool for emphasizing the metaphysics dimension of the landscape, which is at the same time ambiguous and convincing.

We are also showcasing works by Mario Cucchi, whose black & the white is employed for identifying a complex analytic project over everyday objects, under the title of Six Thoughts of the Same Thing. The black and white is the consequence of savvy use of light, capable of giving new and unseen semantic meanings to a list of common use objects. Taking inspiration from historical and contemporary Surrealism, this black-and-white is intentionally creating visual parallelisms to a pioneering photographic era still perceived as close. Nevertheless, it also a tool for creating a strong unity sense in a project composed of a large number of shots.

Ivano Zanchetta has also made of the black and white as a character in a photographic body of work that, included in the realm of landscape photography, is focusing on evoking emotions and creating deeply poetic atmospheres. His photographs keep constantly an open dialogue with the masters of the genre, such as Mimmo Jodice and Micheal Kenna. Zanchetta has marked his inquiry with technical artisanry and also longtime exposures. The minimalist elements of nature and architectures represent tools to create a poetic vision of nature.
